Riding Motorcycles Is A Passion

1968 Yamaha 180 Street ScramblerBiker Dude & 1972 Suzuki GT550Riding motorcycles probably became a passion for me when I was 16 years old and still in High School. I got my first bike, a 1968 Yamaha 180 Street Scrambler used from the local Yamaha dealer for $ 350.00. The photo to the right is a picture of that bike.

I rode that bike for a few months, but soon it became “way too small” and gutless I might add. From the little Yamaha, I moved up to a Suzuki GT550 Triple (see the “Biker Dude” to the left), and then later a 1982 Honda V4 750 Sabre. I have posted a couple of photos of the Sabre on the West Coast Biker Forums website.

I let the Sabre go when my two youngest children were born in the mid 1980′s, and for the next 24 years I could only dream of getting back on a bike (do the math).1982 V45 Sabre

In 2009 I was able to get the bike I had been dreaming about for those 24 long years, a 2008 Harley Davidson FLHX Street Glide in Dark Blue Pearl. Since I purchased the new Harley I have been able to make several trips to Kelowna BC in the Okanogan, and a three trips south of the border, including most recently to Sturgis. The trip to Sturgis has been on my “bucket list” ever since reading about Sturgis in the motorcycle magazines that were the staple of my reading list ever since I started riding.
