2012 Triumph Speed Triple R

The 2012 Triumph Speed Triple R improves on the performance of the Speed Triple, with new Ohlins NIX30 43mm front shocks and an Ohlins TTX36 mono-shock at the rear. The new lightweight PVM forged alloy wheels are 1.7kg lighter than the standard wheels, and help to  improve the overall suspension performance. The revised Speed Triple’s aesthetics are a huge improvement over the earlier models.

The new Speed Triple R features Four-piston Brembo calipers, and ABS is also available as an option. The Speed Triple R’s braking performance is now about 5 percent better than the standard Speed Triple.

The Speed Triple R will be offered with a choice of white or black paintwork, with a red subframe and gold colored forks. Triumph has not released how much of a premium the “R ” will cost over the standard Speed Triple’s retail price, however expect more details closer to its local launch.

The 2012 Triumph Tiger Explorer is the new flagship for the of Triumph Adventurer Tourers. The Tiger is powered by a 1200cc three-cylinder engine that delivers it’s power to the back wheel via a shaft drive. This Triumph features the new ‘ride by wire’ electronic throttle system that makes its production debut on this model. Cruise control, ABS and traction control will be standard as well.

The bike is built on a strong steel frame, and the Tiger Explorer features a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel with a single-sided rear swing arm. A wide range of accessories will be offered for the Tiger Explorer. They will include both low and high seat options, hard luggage, soft luggage and a number of electrically powered or heated accessories.

The Bonneville T100-based Triumph Steve McQueen Edition is built to honour Hollywood legend Steve McQueen. It is style after and pays trubute to the Triumph Trophy TR6 that the Steve rode during the filming of The Great Escape.

Like the man it’s named after, this bike is finished in a matt-khaki paint scheme with matt-black detailing. The Steve McQueen Edition is both understated and tough, and only 1100 Triumph Steve McQueen Editions will be built.
